Events

‘A thing that happens?’

The Oxford English dictionary rather unhelpfully defines an ‘event’ as ‘a thing that happens’. If we take this as the start point, it’s no surprise that many events can leave us thinking why we bothered participating in the first place.  Cogent Content sees events differently.

‘Event’ can be traced back to the Latin word, ‘evenio’, meaning outcome or consequence.

Our approach to every event - physical or virtual – starts with the question, “What are we going to get out of this and why does it matter?”

Event design & delivery

Conventional gatherings are prevented by COVID-19 restrictions. We remain optimistic that physical events will make a comeback. Cogent Content advises clients on event design for celebration, education and promotion with audiences of up to 500 people. We provide support across the full event lifecycle from concept and publicity through to scripting, stage direction and follow-up.

Productive conversations

We are adept at balancing advocacy with inquiry and help our clients to understand what drives and frames the thinking and actions that shape the world. Our approach draws on the ideas of organisational psychologist, Chris Argyris, and the mental models described by Peter Senge in his acclaimed work, The Fifth Discipline: The Art and Practice of the Learning Organization.

Stage management

What’s going on, who’s up next, are we on schedule? Professional stage management is the glue that holds a great event together. Cogent Content bring calm, structure, and certainty to your event. We know our stagecraft and we understand how to get the best out of the people upon who your event depends.
